Alan Bennett considers Patricia Routledge his favorite actress<span style=\"font-style: italic;\"><\/span>. The British playwright has written a great many things for her to perform over the years, both onstage and on television. Meanwhile here on our side of the pond, I have been talking to a lot of people about the musical <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">1600 Pennsylvania Avenue <\/span>and espousing the brilliance of Routledge.
